Thursday

Today we went to a resort we never skied before, called North Star. It was a bit hotsy-totsy kind of a place, and even had its own Ritz Carlton hotel at slope side. All the runs were surprisingly easier than any other place - I can only guess that was intentionally done for the "rich and famous" ....

Still some very nice scenery.

First, for you viewing pleasure a little (very shaky) video on yours truly skiing!

Now on to a few pictures!

A shot from part way up the hill.

Yes, I thought I should provide a little proof that I was actually skiing..

A shot from the chair lift.

And a little pano. The guy on the right i

Wednesday - St. Patty's Day!

Today my buddies were hurting a bit. So, I skied solo. Spent the day at heavenly, skied from 9am until 3pm without stopping - now I am the one hurting.

My friend Tony lent me his point and shoot and I got these pics ( way to much effort to carry my DSL ).

At top Heavenly resort. About 1100 ft, looking down from Ski Line lift.

Moguls! Well, I can't ski them, but I tried!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Miss the wife and kids, I'm ready to come home....

Tuesday

Woke up pretty sore - but we all figured we would. Today, we are skiing at Mt. Rose, about 1 hour away. Lots of steep runs, but I think we will hit it hard in the morning and do more sightseeing in the afternoon.

Spent plenty of time on the way home hitting all the scenic turnouts. Hope you enjoy these photos.

Monday

Monday started out earlier than it should have. I had the great idea of getting up early and getting a sunrise shot. Up at 5:45am - make coffee - then off to find a spot. Should have checked what time sunrise was - had to wait until 7:15! Oh well, I know for tomorrow!

Finally time to SKI!! First day was at Homewood. Homewood is a local's place. They played 70's rock-n-roll and the lodge was simple. Homewood though has the BEST pictures of the lake, and there were no lift lines all day long!

The view from the slopes. Not to shabby!

After skiing we met up with a friend that I used to work with - Rich. He runs a restaurant at a different resort.

Sunday - Wake up in Tahoe!

Well, slept on the couch, but I could have slept standing up. Woken up by the sun streaming though the window. Not a bad way to start the day!
Ok - just a little photoshop work here, but only so the picture looked more like the real thing! !

Next up - church. Internet connect is really poor - I have to sit by the door, laptop in lap, one had on the metal door acting like an antenna, and still get about dial-up speeds. Well, found the church online "Our Lady of Tahoe" - man that was original. Two masses, 8am & 10am. Oh yeah, about that time we figured out that we lost an hour of sleep. Better make it the 10am mass!

Nice mass - cool priest too.

Next up a bite to eat followed by a movie. Say the Green Zone. If you like war flicts, you will like this. From the same director who did the Bourne movies, starting the same guy from the Bourne movie. Great Flick.

After that a bit of shopping, renting of skis and then vegging out!

Saturday travel

Well, air travel is so much fun these days. Things started well enough, first flight was on time (CLE to Detroit). Then the fun began...second led airplane late getting in, delays our second flight, and we miss our connection in Salt Lake City. 6 hours delay later, and my first, 1st -class upgrade (yep, first time for everything), and we get to Reno! A two hour drive later, gets us to Tahoe at about 4am.
